Going Over 55? Slow Down!

Now that I am over 55, what I have found is that I cannot multi-task as I once could. I find that I get stressed in situations which did not bother me when I was younger. For example, the energy of my granddaughters can stress me out if I have other stressors happening at the same time. So I asked myself, "Why."

As women, once we go into menopause, our ovaries stop producing the hormones they once did. What I did not realize until recently is that our adrenals are the organs that now take over the job of hormone supply. Now I understand why I can become stressed more easily and why it feels good to slow down and just be.

I find that in stressful times I am taking time to sit, with no agenda, and watch the sun set. It seems to take care of what is troubling my mind. I see how my body’s reaction to stress makes sense. My adrenals are working overtime making up for the hormones that my body once produced. They are more easily compromised. I realized I must still myself on a more regular basis in order to support my adrenal health.

Although this applies to us baby boomers, it is also a word of advice for those of you who are younger. If you feel you can do it all and your body can take it, think again. Look at where you hold your stress and give yourself a few quiet moments each day to say to your adrenals, “I’m here for you. I support you. I love you.”

Thank you for slowing down to read this!

A Time for Introspection

Mercury is going into retrograde (January 21) and it feels like spring in Denver. When Mercury goes retro, it is a sign for us to take time to move inward and observe the sensations which are presented to us. But with 62 degrees outside, I just want to take a hike and forget about everything!

So let’s follow the yin/yang of this energy. As you pause to reflect upon deeper thoughts, don’t forget there is a lighter side to every situation, i.e., the coming of spring. For myself, I find when I am deep in a process and integrating the issues that arise, nature is my solace. I often set up my meditations so that when I come out of them I see nature. I sit by a window or when it is warm like it is now, I meditate in the sun with a blanket.

So don’t let Mercury throw you off. Use the energy to understand situations in your life fully, without judgment. Center in your heart and look within for your answers.

Blessings,

Who Am I and Why Am I Here?

How can these questions be answered and with whom do you need to connect in order to find the real truth?

It is really much simpler than you have imagined. The left brain wants to keep things complicated. In that way it is in control. If you can step away from the analyzing and searching you just may find your answer.

In the stillness of meditation this connection can be made because the answers do not lie outside of you. They are found within! At the beginning of each healing exchange I direct the group into a meditation. It is only a short time but as a group we go deep and for those moments, and for some time after, new perceptions are attained.

Tonight I will direct the group into a space where we can feel and reacquaint ourselves to the “I” within. Please join me tonight at 6:45pm MST in Centennial, CO and if you cannot be here physically, tune in energetically at 7:10pm Mountain Standard Time and see if you can pick up on the high frequency we will be channeling.

Marnie
