In the Stillness of the Storm

This past weekend, here in Colorado, we had a major snow storm. It blanketed the entire city in soft white light. We were forewarned that we would be getting up to 16” and call me crazy, but I was looking forward to it! Apparently I was not alone in my anticipation. Others shared with me that they too were excited by the impending storm.

The snow gave me time to nestle in and be still. Because it happened on a weekend, others felt that this was just what they needed to grant themselves some quiet time. The snow-muffled sound created a blanket of stillness and created a quiet magical space. The cold kept people indoors so there was little or no activity to be seen, which added to the enchantment.

Snowstorms are the highlight of winter. Winter is about going inside and reevaluating the last year. It gives us time to unwind and re-sync everything that has recently occurred. Too often we get caught up in the ever-present activities of life and do not stop to embody what has been given to us. When a storm hits, there is nothing you can do but stay inside and if you are smart, you will use the time wisely.

Suggestions for finding stillness during a storm:
  1. Recall the joys and confrontations of the last year.
  2. Observe the gifts that came from these situations.
  3. Let your body feel and integrate the information.
  4. Now be still and know there is nothing you need to do or learn.
  5. All the answers lie within.
  6. Listen.
From my warm heart to yours,
Marnie

Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

Now that we are in the depths of winter, it might be a good time to try something new. In the winter it feels good to hunker down and snuggle with something warm. It could be a blanket, a fire, a book, or a new experience.

Our brains require new stimulation in order to stay healthy, and venturing into the unknown will accomplish just that. You may want to try a different form of meditation, or perhaps something that takes you completely out of your comfort zone and out into public. It can be challenging to go to a place where you know no one and try something you have never experienced before, but give it a try.

Now is the time, before spring pops in and encourages us to get outside into nature. See what is in store for you. Open your mind, challenge your body, and allow yourself to meet people who will inspire you.

I’m taking Argentine Tango lessons! Let me know what new thing you're trying that takes you out of your comfort zone.

In the groove,
Marnie

P.S. This week is the “Are You Psychic” class. Come play and see if this might be a way for you to step out of your comfort zone. February 19, 6pm.

Financial Struggles? A Way To Financial Freedom!

Have you had situations in your life where you felt you made the wrong financial decision or that finances were held back from you unfairly. I ask you, can you look at this in a different way?

Often times a financial struggle can open you to a new way of being. These situations can force you to adopt a new perspective. You must allow your creative juices to flow to understand how to rise above the struggle. As you look back at challenging situations, have you found that you have grown immensely in the process?

If you allow yourself to perceive old struggles in a new way., you may find that your battles were actually opportunities. Notice if you have risen above and found the gift in the opportunity given to you by the challenge that was presented to you.

Everything in life is a gift, even if in the moment it doesn’t appear to be. We are here on this earth to expand and send love to every situation that is presented to us.

During this week of the heart, look at where you can be softer with yourself. Open up and look back at times when you felt finances were being taken away from you unfairly and see how that situation allowed you to grow and rise above the human limitations that were presented to you. Open your heart and give those involved and yourself the love that you’re looking to receive from outside yourself.

Money is really only energy that you give and receive. It has only the value that you assign it.

As you see the gifts that you have been given by not allowing negativities to drive you down, it will open your heart and you will truly have a lovely Valentine’s Day. Why? Because you’re receiving the love from the one that means the most – yourself.

No one can give you love. You are the one who creates it. You are the one who opens to it and you are the one who responds back to it. Give yourself the gift of love. Feel it and know it is yours alone to have and no one can take it away from you.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

The Full Moon Brings a Promise of Fulfillment

Tonight the moon is full and the Aquarius sun opposes the moon in Leo. The Full Moon is a time of culmination with the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time--a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

The Leo-Aquarius polarity deals with the balance between all that is personal (Leo) and all that is impersonal (Aquarius). The energy of the Leo moon is creative self-expression and the boost to the individual ego that we receive through pleasure and romance, while the Aquarius sun rules the group, more impersonal friendships, and objectivity. This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between romance and friendship, and between expressing ourselves in personal and impersonal ways.

So in looking at the astrological energy of today, let’s just say you can do anything you choose to do. Know you have the divine mother of the moon supporting you, and if you require more support, come to the Healing Share on Wednesday night, February 4 at 6:45.

Soaring the Cosmos,
